OneWord.com

I think I’m addicted to oneword.com

It’s a great not only to get those creative juices flowing, but also fun to read how everyone else interpreted the word.

Thankfully, it’s only one word PER DAY, so you can’t play on the site all day long. Thank god, or I’d get NOTHING done.

NaNoWriMo

Yup, I’ve decided to take the plunge and participate in my first ever NaNoWriMo. I’ve got two half-finished YA novels hanging around my hard drive, and it’s time to start a project and … you know … finish it. I’m going to really fly by the seat of my pants for those thirty days … I just want to see where the story takes me.

Synopsis:

Jill is a recent college grad (from a fancy pants college) with a fabulous boyfriend (at least everyone else thinks so), a glamorous publishing job (except really, it’s not), and a gorgeous apartment (that the sometimes-less-than-wonderful boyfriend’s parents pay for). Jill is pretty miserably in her charmed life … but a pair of skates and a wild band of derby girls are about to change all that.

Feel free to “buddy” me on my NaNoWriMo page!

I wrote an article about Whip It and how it compares to the real life rollergirls skating for The Boston Derby Dames. Check it out!

Has Whip It opened your eyes to the derby revival taking over the country? Inspired you to take a turn around the track? Read on.

I just started blogging for Skirt! magazine’s website (as an official skrit!setter). I’ll be writing mostly about roller derby (more long-form than in my Derby Girl Blog). Check out my first post!

Derby Girl Blog

I have maintained Derby Girl Blog since February 2008, following my skating with Bleeding Heartland and on to Boston Derby Dames.

Derby Girl Blog covers roller derby news, my adventures as a skater, and my attempts at balancing my real life as a married educator and my superhero life on the track.
